RIDE OF MY LIFE: THE STORY OF THE BICYCLE

Author Rob Penn travels around the world collecting hand-built parts for his dream bicycle and charts the social history of one of mankind’s greatest inventions.

It’s an interesting watch with some really great old footage. Rob does get a little irritating towards the end and there are a few parts on his bike that he doesn’t go into much detail on, but its made up for by the trip to the Brooks factory…amazing.

Here’s a poor quality youtube trailer…

You can watch the full length documentary here on BBC iplayer

If you don’t have iplayer you can watch it here

TOBY FORTE IN OZ

Toby Forte is leaving the UK with his wife in January to work for Stowaway Distribution in Australia. We wish him the best of luck! This is what Stowaway have to say -

“New Year, New Staff and More Good Times Ahead in 2011.
2010 has been another awesome year for us here at Stowaway and we have big things on the cards for 2011. Our first major announcement is the addition of Toby Forte to the Stowaway family. You will all know Toby and his brothers Kye and Leo of United fame, some of the U.Ks’ raddest shredders without a doubt. Toby is an all round good guy and will be coming on board with us in February 2011. He will be handling sales and marketing / media on the east coast for us. We have long be missing a face on the east coast and this will help us keep in touch with all of you over there. Toby will be based out of Byron so expect to see him popping up regulary all over the east coast from early next year.”
